My Speech 2017

Reflection

I found tricky was thinking of what my speech is about so I tried to think something easy to write about and what I know a lot about.
I am proud because I made a good speech with lots of information
My next step is to make better speeches about different things

WAL to identify persuasive techniques.  We had to figure out which technique they were using.  We had practised these techniques in the skits we created.  For example

30 Seconds has a slogan :”Spray and Walk Away”

Emotional Appeal makes you feel guilty if you don’t use the product

The technique I found easiest to remember is slogan because it is just a catchy name

Whale Rider Chapter 8

WAL to identify bias in a text.  We had to highlight the words that showed Koro Apirana being biased.  He would be mean to Kahu because he wanted a boy to be the chief but Kahu was next in line and she is a girl.  

I thought this activity was

tricky to find where he was being biased.

easy because I could find the examples.

The hardest part was where it didn’t say it very clearly.

I hope we get to do something like this again.

Reflection

We learnt how to use Mixed and Improper fractions.

We learnt what was an Improper Fractions  and what was a Mixed Fractions.

We had a to learn how change an improper fraction to an Mixed.

My favourite one was changing a improper fraction to a mixed fraction.

Term 2 Week 2

Buddhist Temple

When I went to the Buddhist Temple the first thing we learned is how to say hello in Chinese.  Next we went on a tour around the Buddhist temple. The person told us about the grass how when people step on it it will all ways stand back up.   

After we finished the tour the people showed us how to make origami roses.  After we finished making our flower we can staple on a rubber band so we can were it like bracelet.

When we finished we get to have some food.

When I finished eating I went to watch a movie. After the movie 

we had to be a bird. When we went to the last room we learned more about the 3G do good deeds say good word think good thoughts and the 4G give joy give hope give confidants give convenience.

When we finished the trip we went back to school I had fun on the trip.

Making Connection

Wal to make connection between the real world and the text

Room 20 has been reading a book, “Bridge to Terabithia’’

In the store, it was raining really hard and the creek was swollen

And flooded In the store.  Yesterday It was raining here as well.  So

we decided to do some authentic learning.

We made some raincoats out of plastic bags and

walked down to see the creek behind the school !!

We could see the water flowing fast and the

plants that had been flaten.

I thought it was cool because I saw how some rain can destroy a tree.

Bike skills

Reflection

The part I most enjoyed about bike skills was just biking around the field because I like to bike and I get to change the bike level when I was riding.

The hardest thing was trying to change the bike level while we go up the ramp because I had to balance and stand up and change the bike level all at the same time.

I have never ridden over a ramp because I thought I would fall but now I know that it is not as hard as I thought but it is still hard.

Reflection

We are learning to use the information in the front cover and the blurb to predict what will happen.
I found this easy because I did this work before and I saw the movie but I only remember the first part of the movie.

Term 1 Week 6

The past 4 weeks were amazing we have went  to camp.   At camp I did abseiling.   First I was really excited to do abseiling.   after I got attached to the harness I was terrified to go down the wall.

Then after I went abseiling I went sailing ⛵ for the first time!   it is really fun.   At sea it was really wet and when I was out there I thought I saw a fish. I think I saw because something that was orange was swimming through the water.

before we went to camp we got new house boxes.   they look like tall red,blue,green and yellow houses 🏠 🏠 🏠 🏠. they are way better then the plant boxes.

I can't wait for the near future.

We are learning to identify the sounds of english.
every day we add a new slide with words that contain
the sounds of the day

My Kenning poem

Reflection

we are learning to make kenning poems.
To do a kenning poem all the words have to star with a/an.
The next word have to be a thing.
The last word have to be a verb.
You also have to add a er at the end.
If you think you did it good job then check.
to check think the er is someone who then read it backwards.

Term 1 Week 2

I can't believe 2 weeks have already been over. In 2 weeks I have already done relief print birthday cards.  Also there is a different house - point system. Instead of just writing your points you can get tokens for house - point. Now you get ticks if you be good in the class and if you get 10 tics you can get a gift. Also the people who wanted to be a house captain could be a house captain because we need to pick some people because the old house captains have gone to intermediate.
