How to Play Marbles

jack and the Bean Stalk

I have written the the story of jack 

and the bean stalk and I have

used describing words. I have

tried to use a hook to make my story

interesting it was hard. I think.

Long ago there live a boy name Jack. He lived with his mum and a cow in a small cottage. They were very

poor.  One day jack’s mum said we don’t have enough money so can you go into town and sell him.  So jack did. On the way he met an old man and he said can I have your cow for some beans and jack said why

would I give up my cow for some beans.  Not just beans, magic beans, magic enough to grow up to the cloud over night. So jack took it. When jack showed it to his mother she was furious. So jack’s mum forced Jack to his room and Jack’s mum threw the magic beans outside. The next morning Jack saw

the bean stalk and he climbed it. A few minutes later Jack reached the top.  At the top of the flowers Jack saw a huge! castle and inside was a mother giant. Everything was going smoothly until Fe Fi Fo Fum I smell the blood of an Englishman.

Jack ran and hid. When the giant came home he brought  a golden goose and a golden harp. When the giant fell asleep Jake ran and got the golden goose and the golden harp but the harp sang “Help me master, help me.”

The giant ran after Jack and down the beanstalk. When Jack reached the bottom Jake grabbed an axe and chopped the beanstalk and lived happily ever after.

Splitting Numbers to Subtract

My Reflection

I have been learning to split numbers to help me subtract.  I found this hard because I accidentally did a 64 instead of 66.  I think I was going to fast.  My next step is to go slower and make sure I do it right and control my fingers.

Leaf Poem

This is my leaf poem.

It describes my leaf poem.

It was easy to make my leaf poem

because my whole class learnt about Autumn so that's why I know all about the words to use and I know the colours. I put all the colours I know into my letters on the leaf.

I found this easy because it was easy to split the numbers.
My next step is to split higher numbers.

Making a Plan

I am learning to make a plan before I write. My plan matches my story.  It was easy to write my story because I knew what I was going to write about. I will use a plan again.

When I played pass the parcel I was excited because there was three different pass the parcel

Playing pass the parcel is a really fun game.  But on sunday pass the parcel was funnier than last time because me and my sister and dad made up three new pass the parcels.  One of my pass the parcels has a star and certificate.  When the music starts  you go.  When the music stops you stop if the star lands on you you will have a certificate if you have the most certificate you will get a medal

Describing the Plot, the Setting and the Characters

Here are the two characters and the setting. I can describe the plot of a story. It was a bit to describe the story. I had to look at my book to find the information. I'm proud of my work.

Doubles and Near Doubles

I can name the doubles and I can use them to help me solve near doubles. I did 9+9-1. I got 17.

The next thing for me to do is use doubles to help me solve other problems.

Fullstops and capital letters

I am learning to put fullstops and capital letters in the right places. I think it's kind of hard to put fullstops because I can't hear where to put them. I would help if I read my sentences all over again so I know where the fullstops will go.

I am learning to make a prediction.  It's kind of hard to make a prediction.  First I had think about the story and then think about what is happening.  I am making a prediction of
meeting Pickles. I made a picture of meeting Pickles. I thought pickles was going to behave but
I was wrong.  Pickles went to puppy school.

Year 3, Welcome

I am in Room 17, year 3.  Welcome to my blog.

This is a story that’s all about me. When I’m a grown up I will be a magician and I will do heaps of tricks. I like to go on my trampoline. I’ve got two sisters, one big one and one small. Their names are Nadini and Chathuni. They are in Elm Park School too.  My favourite thing is going to the beach to build sand castles.
